Privacy Policy
This policy explains what CODEX collects and how we use it. We aim to collect only what's needed to run the archive and your membership.
What we collect
Account details (name, email), your research activity (bookmarks, notes, collections, reading history), and subscription status. If you subscribe, Stripe processes your payment and shares a customer and subscription identifier with us — never your full card number.
How we use it
To provide and personalize the archive, sync your research across devices, manage your subscription and access level, and improve CODEX. We use aggregate analytics to understand what's useful.
The Archivist AI
Questions you ask The Archivist are processed to generate answers grounded in CODEX content and to track your monthly usage allowance. Don't submit sensitive personal information in AI questions.
Payments
Billing is handled by Stripe under its own privacy and security standards. CODEX does not store raw card data at any time.
Your data & choices
Your bookmarks, notes, and collections remain yours and are preserved even if your subscription ends. You can request account deletion through your account. Some records may be retained where required for legal or billing purposes.
Cookies & sessions
We use essential cookies/tokens to keep you signed in. We do not sell your personal information.
