Terms of Service

Last updated June 2026

Welcome to CODEX — The Archive of the Unexplained. By creating an account or subscribing to Full Archive Access, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. Discovery on CODEX is free; deeper research, personalization, audio, and AI features are part of Full Archive Access.

Subscriptions & Billing

Full Archive Access is offered as a recurring subscription at $5.99/month or $49.99/year (launch pricing). Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. CODEX does not collect or store your payment card details. Applicable taxes may be added at checkout.

Cancellation & Refunds

You may cancel anytime from Manage Subscription. When you cancel, you keep Full Archive Access through the end of the period you've already paid for; it will not renew afterward. If a payment fails, we provide a short grace period before access reverts to the free Seeker level.

Your bookmarks, notes, and collections are preserved if your subscription ends — premium editing and access simply lock until you resubscribe.

The Archivist AI

The Archivist is an AI research assistant grounded in CODEX content. Its answers are generated and clearly labeled, and may contain errors — always verify against primary sources. Premium members receive a monthly allowance of Archivist questions that resets each billing cycle.

Content & Interpretation

CODEX separates documented evidence from interpretation. Material is provided for research and educational purposes and does not constitute professional advice.

Changes

We may update these terms or pricing for future purchases. Members who join at launch pricing keep that price for as long as their subscription remains continuously active.
