Operation Gladio and Stay-Behind Networks

Declassified documents from the CIA, the British National Archives, and Italian parliamentary commissions have progressively clarified the organizational outline of Gladio, though crucial operational records — particularly those relating to the strategy of tension — remain classified or are claimed to have been destroyed.
